Back to School 2024/2025

The Countdown is on!  School begins for all grades on Tuesday, September 3, 2024.  Please watch for ongoing communications regarding the detailed return to school plans for each Westmount campus by September 1. Information on this page may change as we get closer to September.

If your student has medical concerns, medications (prescription or non-prescription) or allergies, and you have not already done so, you must complete and submit Westmount’s annual medical form and return it to the school no later than the first day of school.

Please visit the forms and documents page on the Westmount website for information on how to drop off your medical forms and medications.

Elementary Campus 2024-25

**To ensure that all school supplies are standardized for our elementary students, we strongly encourage all EC families to purchase their supplies through this program

3 WAYS TO ORDER:

  1. ONLINE: You can place your order online at School Start K-G2G3-G4.
    • Their site is best compatible with Firefox or Chrome.
  2. PHONE: You can call the School Start customer service centre at 1-800-580-1868 to place your order over the phone.
  3. Email: You can print and fill out the below order form(s) and return to the School Start office via email to: info@schoolstart.ca.

Instructions to Purchase a Standardized School Supplies Package for Your Child Online

  1. Click on the Westmount Elementary School Start Link.
  2. Select your student’s grade in September. The School Supply list and order sheet will open.
  3. Enter your student’s first and last names into the Student Name field at the top of the page.
  4. The starter package is already selected for you; this contains the standardized supplies your child needs.
  5. Below the starter package list, you will see a list and required by your child's teacher.
  6. Select any items from the list that you do not already have at home.
  7. Click Add to Cart > Checkout (or Choose Another Kit).

That’s it! Now all you need to do is purchase a backpack, lunch bag/water bottle and shoes for your child.

Mid-High Campus 2024-25

Grade5 & 6   Grade 7   Grade 8   Grades 9-12

Parents/Guardians, please note the following new processes for school supplies and locks at the Mid-High campus for the 2023-2024 school year:

  • Westmount will be providing locks for all lockers (hallway and gym) for grades 5-12 and no locks from home will be allowed.
  • Westmount will be providing school supplies for all students in grade 5 & 6 starting next fall. Click on the Grade 5 and 6 School supply list above for more information and to find out what you do need to purchase for your child.
  • Grade 6-12 Students please go to your SOURCE class upon entering the building.
    1. SOURCE teacher and location can be found on your child’s schedule in PowerSchool
    2. We will have student and staff helpers in the front foyer to assist students in locating their SOURCE teacher’s room.
  • Grade 5’s will meet their teachers in the Cafeteria
    1. We will have students and staff helpers in the front foyer to assist Grade 5 in getting to the cafeteria.

Once PowerSchool rolls over in late August, students can see their teachers in PowerSchool on their schedule. Please print the schedule from PowerSchool and bring with you on the first day of school.

Please make sure you log in to PowerSchool and check your most current schedule prior to school starting, as it may have changed from June.

  1. Log into PowerSchool (parent or student)
    1. Go to https://www.westmountcharter.com/
    2. Go to the green check mark in the top right
    3. Click on PowerSchool Login
  2. Once logged in:
    1. On left hand side: click on My Schedule
  3. At top of this screen there is:
    1. Week Schedule or
    2. Matrix view (full year schedule)

Lockers will be assigned in SOURCE on the first day of school.

This year, the Alberta Education mark release date is July 14, 2024. All students who will be attending post-secondary in the fall must order their final transcript from Alberta Education via MyPass.

You may go into MyPass now and order your Official Transcript, and also view and print your Detailed Academic Report(See the important notes below)

***NOTE***

  • You can request that your transcript be sent now – however, it will not include your final marks.  All 30-level courses will also show as INC (incomplete)
  • To ensure that your transcript is sent after final marks are released, please make sure you click the box in MyPass that states that your transcript should not be sent until final marks are released.
